Intern Software Engineer:                                                                                   June – September 2006

• Implemented XML support for the DMExpress product using Microsoft Visual C++.

• Conducted functional and unit tests for the product under different environments such as Unix, Linux, AIX, and Sun Solaris.

• Developed algorithms to extract large volumes of data from database into memory efficiently.

• Implemented and tested a privacy-preserving data mining applications framework using C++.

• Developed secure and efficient privacy-preserving data mining algorithms.

• Used OpenSSL and secure networking libraries (client-server) in C++.

• Designed and developed the coordinator architecture to synchronize network communication between clients and server via TCP/IP.

• Developed and administered online education tool using PHP and MSSQL for the School of Systems and Enterprises.

Analyzed calling behavior of the customers of a major telecommunication company using real data and created a forecasting model using statistical analysis of historical data in S+ and Matlab.

Financial Software Developer:                                                           September 2000 – September 2002

 

• Analyzed and developed financial curves (Yield curves- i.e. bond curve, zero coupon curve, Deposits to FX Forwards curves, Commodity Forward curves, etc) in C++ and Matlab (financial toolbox).

• Implemented forecasting models (exponential moving average, ARIMA) for stock prices in Turkey in C++.

• Implemented normalization and consolidation of financial data from various data sources (Reuters, S&P).
