Studies show that kids have decided what kind of career path they want to pursue by 6th grade. It is around that time that interest in science and mathematics goes over a cliff. No doubt there are many factors behind this, including social prejudices and our national media, that are beyond our individual control. Nevertheless, short of asking Russia to launch another Sputnik, what can we do to turn around this decline in interest in technical skills among our children?
