- Last*fm: This website requires a plug-in for a
music player (such as Itunes, audacious, amarok, winamp) called a scrobbler,
which sends the tag information of the songs you play. It then lists it in a
personal profile, and based on user input (through their playlist, similar
songs) and a tagging system, it recommends new artists to listen to.
- Princeton Shape Benchmark: Repository
of 3D shape models of varying quality and resolution.
Media search engines:
- Musicovery: Color-based music search.
- Riya: A search engine that focuses on
tagging images, and displays the results through thumbnail pictures.
- Midomi: Finds music based on your
voice. Hum or sing a tune to query the music database.
- KwMap: Text based search that provides a
visual map of similar keywords.
- Mnemomap: Search engine that provides a map
of similar keywords, but splits the search into various elements, such as
"neighbors", "tags", "synonyms" and "translations".
